Pink eye that is. Parker has it again. His eyes were a little goofy over the weekend and by Monday Morning they were full blown pink and gooey. So, we're back into another week of drops. Luckily, Aunt Bo was able to hang out with him on Monday at home since he couldn't go to respite and that way I could still go to work. Payton has somehow stayed exempt from it so far (I'm not sure how). Keeping fingers crossed that it stays that way.
And in other news...
We had a good Thanksgiving. But it was very low key. With Parker not feeling all that good and Payton just being her normal goofy self, they weren't really into all the Thanksgiving food. They were much happier with some crackers and Mac & Cheese. Oh well, there's always next year.
Payton is apparently in the middle of a growth spurt and wants to eat every 90 minutes, day or night. I think she's trying to kill me. It's not good when people at work are telling me that I look tired and sick, and I was just thinking that I finally felt 100% over my strep throat.
We got Parker's latest blood results back. He does not have Celiac's Disease. Whew. That's a load off. The is evidence of allergy cells throughout his system as evidence by the biopsies. We now have an appointment with an allergist on December 23rd to talk about that. We'll see what comes of that. And we don't have to go back to the GI doctor for 3-4 months.
That's all from twin central for now. More updates and pictures coming soon!

The latest poop
Respite care has started giving the twins a chance to try sitting on the potty when it's time for diaper changes. And Payton has started to recognize when it's time "to go" and she's been telling them there. So I hadn't really planned on doing this so soon (I mean, they're not even really technically 2 for another two months) but I broke down and bought two potties. Frog potties. The first night we had them they wouldn't stay off of them. They drug them into the kitchen, in the hallway, everywhere. Payton isn't using it everytime she needs to "go" but she's telling us when sometimes and most the time getting a sticker because she went. Parker really doesn't care and would rather throw a ball around. We're in no hurry. We'll get there.
Parker's procedure went well. Things with blood work and biopsies didn't exactly match so last week in the heat of our illnesses I had to take him in to have more bloodwork. We're hoping to have the resutls back this week sometime. It's a weird thing...wanting answers and being happy someone is listening, and maybe not wanting to know the answers.
Aunt Bo brought us back hats from her trip with Uncle Dave. Do you know of any little man cuter running around in a authentic Harvard ballcap? We're on the mend from our last round of illnesses. Just in time for Turkey Day! We are so ready for our first real Thanksgiving dinner ever. Don't worry - we'll be taking lots of pictures!
Have a good week!

World Prematurity Day 2011
Some day, I hope this isn't really a day that's needed. Some day.
Thank you Time for the article giving a voice to something alot of people don't like to talk about.
To all my preemie mommas...you are some of the most amazing people that I know.
And for everyone else who's supported us in any way, thank you.
Then...

Winter strikes early
It's been brewing for a few days. There's been something not quite 100% with the dynamic duo for about a week. My main goal was getting Parker through his procedure without being sick. We did that and I thought we were on the downhill side. I was wrong. Winter crud got us early. Monday morning Parker's eyes were matter shut, they both had coughs that were way down in their chests that made them cry and Payton sounded like a percilator. Not good. I was hoping to get through a meeting at work and take them to the doctor afterwards but that didn't happen. The doctor and nurses are of course great and know that when we come in, there's truly something up.
Payton had to of course help the nurses check the oxygen sats. They know how all the machines work and she has no trouble jumping in to help.
And for feeling as awful as they did, they were really good about playing while we waiting for the doctor.
Once the doctor came in he checked them both out and we made our plan of attack for this go around. Payton is on bout #5 of pneumoni this year, with a sinus infection chaser. Parker has pink eye in both eyes, a sinus infection and bronchitis. Not fun - especially since this momma is in the middle of my own meds for my strep throat and sinus infection.
On the way home I felt awful, they were a wreck, everyone's exhausted, so we stopped and got some McDonald's for them for lunch to help give a better start to the afternoon. I think it helped! Sometimes fries and chicken nuggets just make it all better.
Before dinner I made a dash to the pharmacy to load up on all things to make them healthy again. I had so much stuff, I almost needed an armed escort to walk out to my car. We're loaded up, let the recovery begin!
P.S. Hey winter, please leave us alone!
