If you have stuff you want to get rid of, here's a chance for you! All the money they raise is staying at Respite Care to help provide stuff. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!

Busy, busy babies

I thought we were fairly busy this summer and that it would calm down a little as we started into fall. I don't know why I thought that. I was completely wrong.

This weekend we're going to get our pictures taken. There will also be some yard work thrown in. And Sunday, we're going to the zoo. It's supposed to be nice out and it will be good to be outside for a while with them.

Next weekend Respite care is having a weekend event at Gifford Farms in Bellevue, and we might hit a pumpkin patch too. Then the weekend after is the birthday party. And the weekend after that is another event at Vala's Pumpkin patch which we might go to.

So, there will be lots of pictures coming in the next few weeks. Get ready :)

Poor little one...I'll take her

Random notes and a Husker game

*The preemie symposium I attended on Saturday was great. Met some wonderful ladies from USC that are doing wonderful  things regarding preemies and infant health. Got some good info to use as we keep working on our own endeavor and some new contacts. Some of the info hit a little close to home, though, and I wasn't quite ready for that.

*Parker's surgery went very well on Thursday. He had no problems at all and we were actually able to go home Thursday afternoon. He's been a little crabby and his throat is bothering him from having the adnoids removed and the scope done. It's tough when you don't like to take anything by mouth and have a sore throat. We did find that he was 2 cysts in his throat behind his vocal cords from prolonged intubation. They will need to be removed in the near future. The only way to do that is with a laser that is brought up from Kansas City. No one in town has one.

*Payton's first tooth cut through on Saturday (3 weeks before their birthday). If you see her, be careful if she wants to chomp on your finger.

*So this Saturday was the NU vs. Washington. I was gone all day at the preemie symposium so when I got home, the babies were decked out in their Husker gear.

*They took naps on Sunday while Mommy was at the grocery store.

Neonatal Nurses Day

Happy Neonatal Nurses Day!

I know there's a day for everything and everyone but...

You were the first ones to take care of my little monkeys
You are now and will forever be close to our hearts
and members of our family
They wouldn't be here without you
(I'm not sure I would be either)

Thank you!!!

A busy Saturday

The babies went to Grandpa and Miss Carolyn's house on Saturday so that I could hit up the Omaha Parents of Multiples sale at UNO. They went for a walk and played with their new dog Mia. Then we went to Sarah & Joe's house for Austin's birthday party. They got to see the cousins, Aunt Bunny, and they got to meet their dog Ally. Then when we got home, Victoria came over with her new puppy and we went for a walk with the kiddos. By the time everything was done, the three of us were all tired and ready for a nap.

Payton napping during the party. She missed Austin opening his presents.
Parker hanging out with Stacey
Everyone lined up on the couch watching Austin open his presents
Hailey and Payton. Payton loves her. Two very pretty girls.
Payton after we got home, hiding under the table, sucking on the chair.
Parker is so silly!

11 months old

Seems totally unreal that they are 11 months old today. When I look back on it all it somehow has gone so fast and in slow motion all at the same time. And also been a large bundle of fog around us the whole time.

Payton sleeping with Daddy
This is the only place Parker has been happy for days...ugh

I don't think Payton knows she's supposed to sit there, not lay on it

If it's not one kid, it's the other

We have Parker's surgery rescheduled. It's now next Thursday the 16th. Of course I have to try my hardest to keep him healthy between now and then. All the same stuff will apply - we're spending the night at the hospital, will probably be first on the list of patients that day. And I have to get back to the military precision or organizing the troops so everyone knows where they have to be when to accomodate the kiddos and their schedules.

I got a call yesterday from Respite Care - Payton's sick. As I started to groan in the phone, the nurse laughed at me. They are feeling my pain. Payton was running a fever up to 102. Even though Respite Care takes care of medically fragile kids and can handle sicknesses, you can't take one there that is sick with an infection or fever because you expose the other kids to something they may not be able to handle. So Payton has to stay home until she's 24 hours fever free without the help of Tylenol. So back to the drawing board. In an effort to get a little time in at work, I took Parker to Respite Care, and arranged for Aunt Bo to come stay with Payton a few hours this morning. I only had to promise coffee be made and to feed her lunch. Then I will go home and take Payton with me later to pick up Parker. He's getting therapy today and I didn't want him to miss that.

Paging all baby lovers

Mommy will be gone all day on September 18th. She's going to do big important stuff with people we don't know. We will be hanging out with daddy and grandma all day, but if anyone wants to come over and play with us, you know where we'll be. Love, Parker and Payton (below is where she will be if it makes any sense to anyone else. We dont know why she doesn't want to hang out with us all day).
