Happy 2014

We spent the new year by starting off practicing wearing our party clothes..

We spent the morning at the zoo, checking out the animals and waiting for the beach ball drop after we counter down until 12:00 noon.

After a quiet ringing in of the new year we spent several days just hanging out at home relaxing, playing and staying warm.

It even snowed here a little and Parker helped with his own shovel clear the driveway. He was so happy to get to help. In about 2 years he'll make a fortune scooping sidewalks around ehre.

We even celebrated a family birthday and the kids sat at the kids table without me. Big step! A little cake goes a long ways too :)

Here's hoping you all have had a good start to 2014, and that the coming year is full of all the things you love and provides the chance for you to find some new ones. Happy New Year!!!

Getting ready for summer

We've been out hitting some of the hot spots in the past week or so. So much to do, so little time! :)

We had a great time at the Storm Chasers game with our friends from respite care. And not much is better than a nice night for baseball and eating hot dogs in the stands.

We hit the annual Pride Parade. The little UP train was great, the Shriners were awesome, and we saw lots of friends there and collected our fair share of candy.

We danced in the rain (who am I to say no?)

Told Uncle Dave happy birthday...

And went to the zoo...

Not to mention we've hit up the new River's Edge Park, a few playgrounds, roamed town in the jogger, fed the ducks and played outside. By the end of Memorial Day weekend, we were all pretty pooped and ready to relax.

Get ready...big things are happening. Our first swim lessons are in just 5 days. They've never been in a swimming pool. Stay tuned!

The week of Thanksgiving

Great weather means we've had a great week of Thanksgiving. We started with a morning at the zoo. When it's warm out and there's some serious football on, it means the zoo is nice and quiet. I was brave enough to take them alone and  they were able to get out of the stroller and really explore a little bit. We were one of 3 families hanging out in the tunnel in the aquarium. Fantastic!

Payton helped do a little light house cleaning, followed by trying to find just the perfect outfit for Thanksgiving.

Thanks to it being 70 degrees on the day before Thanksgiving, we were able to break in a new playground that we drive past every day on the way home.

We has a good time on Thanksgiving. We even are big enough now to play ball in the front yard at great-grandma's house with some of our cousins.

Friday morning on the way to school, we drove through downtown to see all the Christmas lights that had been turned on. It was too cold and too early to get out and look at them. They love the lights. As Parker says "look, it's the angels".

This morning we had our first trip to the library. We checked out the train table, the activity blocks, played on the computers and had a great time. We brought home 3 books, 2 activity bags and a movie. Not bad for our first trip.

Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving. And that you're enjoying the rest of the weekend! Hope your time has been as busy and fun as ours!
