Halloween Rewind

It was a long week...picture day, Halloween parties, trick or treating, our first time carving pumpkins, capped off with raking some leaves that are finally starting to fall. Despite my begging, they were not into going as some really creative costumes that went together (I have a couple friends that were able to pull that off and I'm totally jealous). Here are the highlights from Halloween week.

Stay tuned....we have a big night ahead. BIG!!! Pictures coming soon!

It was a Happy Halloween

The Bees!

We trick-or-treated at my work on Halloween Eve, they had a party at school during the morning yesterday, then we made a couple special stops after school, including getting a special bucket of goodies from our friend Honor. We ended the night visiting Aunt Bo at work and having dinner. Bo and Brittany were pretty happy to have a few bees come in.

Hope everyone had a safe day full of more treats than tricks.

Be on the lookout for our post coming up. Sunday night we're doing something extra special and it's pretty huge. Stay tuned!

Halloween Fun

We were able to hit a little Halloween fun last weekend. Thanks to the heat wave that was happening here, it was an amazing time to be outside. We started out spending part of the afternoon in Bayliss Park at the Midland's Humane society's Halloween Bash. So very fun to see all the animals dressed up, the agility exercises and of course the parade of animals.

We also hit Vala's Pumpkin Patch. Thanks to Respite Care hosting another event we were able to get a smoking deal on tickets that included dinner.

Parker was interested in posing with Aunt Bo. Payton not so much.
Apparently a hot dog cooked over a campfire just hit the spot for Parker.
Not sure his mouth or eyes could get any wider!
We stopped and checked out all the rabbits they had. I know this is not a great picture of the kids, but the look on Abby's face is hysterical.
We were pretty fascinated with ponies.
Sorry guys...maybe next year you'll be big enough.
Payton hanging out with Uncle Dave.
Look Bo, it's the great pumpkin!

Our last stop of the evening was for a treat and to watch the pig races. Parker sat with Daddy and Uncle Dave and shared his M&Ms and root beer (yes, I promise that brown bottle is root beer).
Payton sat between Aunt Bo and I and ate her pink ice cream (a.k.a. cherry nut) before the pigs made their big entrance.
Another event, another success and just another reason I so adore Respite Care. Happy Halloween!

We have a big week ahead, so that means updates to come! Picture day at respite care, the Halloween costume reveal and events, and something super special next Sunday.

Happy Halloween!

What do you do with two 2 year olds on Halloween? What do you get?

My lil greaser...

and my girly in her poodle skirt and sparkly shoes...

They are ready for a fun day at respite that includes a party, parade and special lunch!

Happy Halloween!

This and that

I've had lots of questions come up lately and I figured "hey, I could make a blog post out of those". So here we go.

Halloween stuff is everywhere. I think just this morning I had the light bulb come on with what the babies are going to be. For now I'm going to keep it under my hat (just in case it changes for some reason) but don't worry, it's going to be super adorable. How can it not be :)

Parker's latest pair on shoes are red Roos that Aunt Bo bought them right after they were born. Today when I picked them up from respite care, Jane, one of the nurses, told me that she looked and realized there wasn't any money in the little pockets on the sides of the shoes yet so she put a quarter in each one. I love her :)

Yes, I still correct their age out because of them being born early. If you ask any of the doctors, you can do that until they're 2. Then after that they don't do it any more because that's the magic point where they're supposed to be caught up. I will probably always in my head correct their age. It's just one of those things.

This winter we will not qualify to get the RSV shots. Does that make me very nervous? Yes. Is there anything I can do about it? No. Insurance is not going to go for it. And with the cost ($3500 a shot), times two, for 5 months, it just isn't feasible to pay for it. So we will just watch where we go. Be super good about washing their hand if they've been anywhere. And the bottles of hand sanitizer that are all over the house will stay right where they are.

There seems to be a thing when your youngest child turns 2 that everyone wants to know when you're going to have your next baby. This question has come up alot lately. I have a really hard time with this question ( for a lot of reasons I won't go on about here). While I never know what God has in store for me, right now the dynamic duo are it.

I don't know how I do it either some times. Actually, a lot of times. It's amazing what you can do when you have no other choice. And you know where all the Scooters' are on your way to work. :)

Yep birthday time is approaching. It's kind of a big deal. :)
